Can you really make money on Quora - Or is it another centralised website stealing your time? - Here are my thoughts

Quora is a platform that allows you to both ask and answer questions. I have utilized both of these features, and have even created pages centred around specific topics. However, in my opinion, it doesn't seem like anyone is making money on the platform. The process is not straightforward and it seems that the only way to make money is by having an existing fanbase that you can invite subscribing to your content. Although there is a potential to earn from asking and answering questions and being involved in communities, I haven't seen any passive income generated from my activity on Quora.

If you enjoy debating and asking questions, then Quora could be a good fit for you. However, if you are looking for a platform where you can generate income from your content and receive tips for your contributions, then Quora may not be the best option. In 2023, writing for websites and social media is becoming outdated, and there are now many apps and websites that share earnings with their client base. These new options make old-fashioned companies like Quora and Google seem outdated and exploitative.

As investors, we support these platforms, but even after years of contributing, we receive nothing in return. There is a growing movement towards new technologies like web3, and platforms like Publish0x are already providing better alternatives to Quora. Talented individuals on Quora are not receiving any passive income and are being pestered to answer questions for free, which is not fair.

As a community of forward-thinking people, we should focus on educating our friends and family on how they are being controlled, rather than solely focusing on financial gain. We need to be free before we can grow, and it's important to stay aware of new technologies and platforms that provide fair compensation for our contributions.
